The Cliff Experience

Being at Cliff is:

It's about community, and being centred on a common goal, on seeking to live a holy life, sharing our faith and encouraging one another to be the people God wants us to be.

It is a community of Christians living together, building each other up in Christ and learning together to help carry the church forward. Its ideology is built on learning, discipleship, evangelism training and caring for one another.

Our motto: 'Christ for all- all for Christ' sums all this up. We share the gospel of Christ though the training of people, from all walks of life to be better Christians, better evangelists, better disciples and better people. Our approach has changed as society has changed but the calling is the same.

We would love you to be part of our vision. Cliff College is not just about getting a degree, it is about the experience of living here, sharing in our community and it's about growing in spirituality while you are with us. It is about learning how to evangelise, feeling part of the church moving forward and gaining skills and knowledge that will help you through the rest of your life. Being at Cliff is life changing – for the better!

Tuition

Cliff has an excellent reputation for its teaching across the whole range of subjects offered which has been given further credibility by the validation from the University of Manchester. This has increased the recognition and value of the courses. It remains fundamental to the College that students of every ability, ranging from those with learning difficulties to those with degrees, study successfully at Cliff each year.

The range of courses offered has increased dramatically over recent years. Full time residential students, (and some day students) register for the Certificate and Diploma courses or for a BA (Hons) in Theology. Additionally we offer postgraduate courses and research. Tuition in all subjects uses a large range of modern teaching methods. The College campus includes an excellent library, well-stocked bookshop, computer provision and an audio-visual resources room.

Spiritual Life

Worship is at the heart of College life. Sometimes it is fairly formal, sometimes very free and often a blend of styles. This is the context in which a variety of spiritual gifts are released and provides encouragement for each member of the community to grow in faith in their own way.

Recreation

Facilities on site include tennis, a gym, a pool table, table tennis and television. Concerts, barn dances, discos and other social activities are arranged. Football and other sporting activities are available in the nearby villages and the Peak area is renowned for walking, climbing and pot-holing. Within easy reach are Sheffield and Chesterfield which offer a wide range of entertainment and leisure facilities.

Accommodation

The main College building includes lecture, seminar and resources rooms, library, common room, and chapel. Most residential students stay in one of the comfortable 70 study bedrooms in the main College building.

The adjacent Conference Complex can offer accommodation to short term students.

Taste and see!

We would encourage you to visit us, spend a day in lectures, attend our Tuesday night celebration and share a meal.
