Evangelists and Teams

A resource to enable, encourage and develop your church in evangelism.

Who we are and what we do

Cliff is a College with evangelism at the heart of all it does.

"We seek to engage with contemporary cultures, in the UK and beyond, presenting the gospel in relevant, challenging and inspiring ways."

What can we offer your church?

Partnership:

We believe that the most effective outreach happens when we can work together in mission to communicate the Good News of Jesus, appropriately, in your community.

Training:

Good outreach is not simply about 'mobilising the troops' but also about equipping them.

Placements:

Placements are an opportunity for us to get involved in the work you're doing in your church or organisation.

Starting out in evangelism • Understanding post modernity • Worship, creative & alternative • Use of multimedia in outreach • Cross Cultural mission • Exploring new ways of outreach • Youth and children's work • Relational evangelism • Communication skills

Workshops can be tailor-made to fit your specific need.

Cliff College Evangelistic Team

Steve Wild joined the college in 2004 as Director of evangelism. Steve oversees the work of three full time evangelists based at Cliff College . He is our trainer in the theory and practice of Evangelism at Cliff College and within the Methodist Connexional Team Church and Society Unit. Steve is also Course Director for the Diploma in Biblical and Evangelistic Ministry.

Sue Peat joined the Cliff staff in 1999. She has worked previously as a youth pastor and out-of-school club co-ordinator. She has a heart for people on the margins of society, and longs to see the church taking seriously the need to practically apply its beliefs.

Helen Edwards joined the Cliff staff in 2000, and completed her Masters in Evangelism Studies in 2003. Helen studied as an undergraduate at Cliff, completing a BA degree in 1999, and then spent a year away before returning to Cliff as an Evangelist. She currently works under the title of Missions and Placements Coordinator' within the department and is involved in teaching on the undergraduate courses.

Eva Walker is the European Evangelism Enabler at Cliff, she comes originally from Albania, and began work at Cliff in 2002 after completing a BA degree at Cliff. She has a great desire to see a revival in Europe and to see churches working together for God's kingdom. She is married to Mick.

Student Evangelists
We have two student Evangelists who work in the Department on a Discipleship programme. They are Brenda Emms from Hull and James Wallace from Liverpool.

What about the cost?

At the end of any period of mission that the college and your church have been involved with, a "Declaration of costs" is sent to you which outlines what the cost of providing the mission to your church was to the College. This is not an invoice. Churches are asked to make a realistic contribution to those costs as they are able. Some churches have no problem and can pay the whole cost and sometimes more. Other churches can only make a smaller contribution.

Example costs

These costs include staff travel and are based on a team of 4-6 people.

Please contact us for further information or costing.
